SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. (KNSI) - A drug bust has landed three people in jail, one of whom is suspected in a stabbing incident in St. Cloud several weeks ago.
Benton County's Chief Deputy Troy Heck says the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force assembled to conduct a search warrant at 2400 Golden Spike road on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
33 year-old Lazaro Diaz was one of the people arrested during the search. Authorities say there is 'probable cause' linking him to a stabbing several weeks ago. He was taken to Stearns County Jail.
At this time, officials are not providing details of the aformentioned stabbing.
19 year-old Melanie Quick of Willmar was also arrested during the bust on outstanding warrants from Benton and Todd Counties. She was transported to the Benton County Jail.
During the search, numerous items related to the use and sale of methamphetamine were found, along with drugs and firearms, and additional charges from the search are pending.
The incident began prior to the search when law enforcement spotted a vehicle leaving the watched address. Officers stopped the vehicle, driven by 26 year-old Christopher Schuman of Little Falls, in the parking lot of the Sauk Rapids Post Office.
Schuman was arrested for an outstanding warrant for controlled substances out of Morrison County. He was arrested and taken to the Benton County Jail.
