BECKER, Minn. (KNSI) - A Chaska man died after witnesses said he tried to drive around lowered railroad crossing safety arms in Sherburne County and was hit by an oncoming train, a Sherburne County Sheriff's spokesman said.
Dennis McKeever, 65, was at the intersection of Sherburne County Road 52 and Highway 10 in Becker around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday when the accident happened, according to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott.
Witnesses reported McKeever tried to drive around the arms when the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train collided with his vehicle.
McKeever was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt in the collision, Brott said.
