ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) Governor Mark Dayton will issue a proclamation declaring today to be "Gopher Women’s Hockey National Champions Day" in Minnesota.

Members of the Gopher Women’s Hockey Team and Governor Dayton will be joined by University of Minnesota Athletic Director Norwood Teague, Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea, and mascot Goldy Gopher for a celebration of the team’s NCAA Division I National Championship. The event takes place at 12:15 this afternoon at Ridder Arena on the U of M campus.

The Gophers went a perfect 41-0 this season, and have a current winning streak of 49 games.
