ST. PAUL, Minn. (KNSI) The county attorney in Benton County will be leaving that position to become a judge.

Governor Mark Dayton announced Thursday that Robert Raupp has been appointed to a judgeship in Minnesota's Seventh Judicial District. Raupp will be chambered in Foley, and will replace Judge James Hoolihan, who retired.

Raupp is a graduate of the Hamline University School of Law, and worked as an assistant city attorney in Minneapolis before coming to Benton County.

The Seventh Judicial District consists of cases in Becker, Benton, Clay, Douglas, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Otter Tail, Stearns, Todd and Wadena counties.
