ST. PAUL , Minn. (KNSI) Governor Mark Dayton has announced the appointment of Katie Clark as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Governor Dayton appointed Clark as Executive Director of the Minnesota Trade Office in January of 2011.

Clark succeeds Commissioner Mark Phillips, who is resigning effective tomorrow to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

The Department of Employment and Economic Development is the state’s principal economic development agency, promoting business recruitment, expansion and retention, workforce development, international trade and community development.
