OLIVIA, Minn. (KNSI) A husband and wife from Olivia have been killed in an accident in Renville County.

The State Patrol says 76 year-old Thomas Kopel was driving a car northbound on Highway 71 Sunday night when he ran into a unspecified piece of farm equipment that was stopped on the northbound shoulder of the highway. It's hazard lights were on, and it was sticking about two feet into the lane of traffic.

Kopel and his wife--74 year-old Carla Kopel--were killed. Two other passengers were injured. The accident was reported just after 8:30  Sunday night.
