COLD SPRING, MN (KNSI) - The Cold Spring City Council met last night and heard more discussion about the future of library services in that city.
Two options are on the table. One would involve renovating and relocating the library into the old middle school building. That would cost an estimated 980-thousand dollars. The second option is to build new at a cost of one-and-a-half million dollars.
A portion of that funding is expected to come from State Library Services, an entity of the Minnesota Department of Education.
It was hoped that construction could begin next year--but that may not happen. Cold Spring Mayor Doug Schmitz says a final decision on which direction to go is still a ways off--and it will not be an easy one.
