Cops: St. Cloud man rear-ends school bus while drunk; 1 student injured

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) – A St. Cloud man was arrested after rear-ending a school bus while under the influence of alcohol, according to St. Cloud police.

Police officers and fire crews were dispatched to the 2600 block of Clearwater Road, just before 5 p.m. Friday for an auto accident with injuries.

The investigation revealed that Harold James Gross, 72, of St. Cloud, ran into the rear of a school bus containing nine children while the bus was stopped.

Gross and a juvenile on the bus both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were medically cleared on the scene.

According to reports, Gross was under the influence of alcohol. He was then arrested and charged with gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation and misdemeanor DUI.
