ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Investigators are asking for the public's help to identify two men responsible for an armed robbery and attack on a St. Cloud store clerk last summer, St. Cloud police officials said.
The crime alert was issued for the robbery at Star Market, 3425 3rd Street North back on July 27.
According to reports, two armed men wearing bandannas covering their faces stormed into the market just before 9 a.m. After tearing out phone lines as well as disabling the store's video surveillance system, the two crooks repeatedly hit the store clerk in the head with a gun before emptying the cash register as well as two in-store safes.
Investigators said both men were carrying semi-automatic handguns and threaten to kill the clerk before putting the man in the store's freezer and making their escape.
The suspects were believed to be driving a 2002-2005 dark green Ford Explorer with gray or tan accents around the wheel wells and along the bottom of the SUV.
The suspects were both described as black men between 19 and 21 years old with average to stocky builds. One suspect had a shaved head and was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, while the other was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call St. Cloud Police at 320-251-1200 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301.
