FOLEY, Minn. (KNSI) - Benton County authorities were searching for the suspect captured on video attempting to burglarize a Foley church last week, authorities said.
Deputies responded to the alarm cal at St. John's Catholic Church on Dewey Street in Foley around 9 p.m. last Thursday, Benton County Sheriff Brad Bennett said.
No one was found in the church building, but deputies witnesses reported seeing someone run from the building as deputies arrived. Investigators also found evidence that some had attempted to break in to the church, Bennett said. Nothing was taken in the burglary.
Surveillance video showed the suspect was a white man approximately 20 years old, around 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a slim to medium build. The burglar was wearing a long-sleeved white-gray or light-colored shirt or sweatshirt and a dark-colored baseball cap.
The man was spotted running from the church north toward 9th Avenue in Foley, Bennett said.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the Benton County Sheriff's Department at 320-968-7201 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301.
