ST. CLOUD (KNSI) - If you see smoke while driving along central Minnesota roadways this spring, no need for alarm; the Minnesota Department of Transportation is planning a series of controlled burns.
The burns are planned for the following areas:
- Highway 65 between East Bethel and Grandy, including within Cambridge
- Along Highway 55 between Brooten and Belgrade
- Near the St. Cloud Travel information center on Highway 10
- Select portions of the Lake Wobegon Trail.
MnDOT says traffic will not be impacted.
The burns are designed to promote weed control and improve vegetation.
