ST. CLOUD, MN (AP) - Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has a reputation for being a prolific fundraiser, and she's done nothing to change that reputation in the current election cycle.
Bachmann's campaign says she raised a million dollars in the first 25 days of July. Those donations poured in at the same time Bachmann was being criticized by members of both the Republican and Democratic parties for her remarks about possible ties between American political figures and Islamic fundamentalist groups.
Bachmann had one-point-seven million dollars in cash on hand at the end of June, compared to about 400-thousand dollars for challenger Jim Graves.
Spokesman Adam Graves said the race will be decided by voters of the Sixth Congressional District, and not by the amount of money raised.
