FRIDLEY, MN (KNSI) - A Fridley woman is trying to decide on her next move after she thought she filed paperwork to run as a candidate in a U.S. Senate race, but she's now actually just eligible in a state Senate race.
Fadumo Yusuf filed this week as a Republican to challenge Michelle Fischbach in Senate District 13, but it turns out, that's not the race she planned to run. Yusuf tells the Times she thought she was filing to challenge Amy Klobuchar for her U.S. Senate seat.
Yusuf says she won't pursue that state senate run and she's still hoping for a way to push her way into the U.S. Senate race.
The filing deadline for both races was 5 p.m. Tuesday.
