Computers tampered with in 'U' president's office

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - University of Minnesota police are investigating computer tampering in the office of the university's president.

     

Police say someone tampered with three computers belonging to new university President Eric Kaler's staff over the weekend. Kaler's suite was not entered.

 

According to a police report, someone deleted virtual profiles off the computers, then renamed them with profanity. No files were deleted or damaged.

 

Deputy Chief Chuck Miner tells the Star Tribune there was no forced entry, so however did it likely had access to the building.

 

Miner says police have "several leads.''
