COKATO, Minn. (KNSI) A home near Cokato was destroyed by fire over the weekend.

The fire call at 10221 Peyton Avenue Southwest in Stockholm Township was called in at 4:16 Saturday morning.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office says the initial investigation indicates the fire started in an attached garage and spread into the home.

The owners--Brent and Jenna Kantola--and their five children were able to get out of the home safely. The house and the garage are a total loss.

Fire suppression efforts were significantly affected by poor weather and road conditions.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office and Cokato Fire Department were assisted at the scene by Cokato Ambulance, and fire departments from Howard Lake, Silver Lake and Dassel.

The Red Cross is assisting the Kantola family. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
