CLARKFIELD, Minn. (KNSI) A Clarkfield man has been arrested after leading deputies from the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office on a pursuit.

Officers were attempting to arrest 30 year-old Matthew Nelson of Clarkfield Wednesday night on a felony warrant. After a short scuffle with officers, he was able to break away and ran to a pickup truck and fled teh area.

Deputies chased Nelson for several miles, including through soybean and corn fields. Nelson eventually ditched the pickup to elude capture.

But police received a tip the following day that Nelson was sleeping in an upstairs bedrooms at a house in Clarkfield. That's where he was arrested.

He's being held in the Yellow Medicine County Jail pending charges.
