ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - CentraCare researchers are looking for past heart attack victims to take part in a new study seeking to reduce the risk of future attacks, the company announced Wednesday.
The CentraCare Heart & Vascular Center is seeking patients who suffered from a myocardial infarction at least 30 days ago to become a participant in the research investigating the use of medication and its ability to reduce the risk of future heart attacks as well as other cardiovascular events such as a stroke.
Those chosen will get all study-related care and medication at no cost, according to CentraCare Center research coordinator Jen Humbert.
About 785,000 Americans suffer their first heart attack each year.
