Centra Care inks deal with New River Medical

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Centra Care Health System will begin managing the operations of New River Medical Center in Monticello--effective January 1st.

New River voted last month to affliate with St. Cloud-based Centra Care after entertaining offers from several health systems, including Fairview, Allina and North Memorial.

The management agreement was signed last Thursday.

An agreement for Centra Care to lease New River facilities, which include the hospital, New River Physician Clinic and extended care facility, could be signed in the spring.

New River CEO Marshall Smith says he's looking forward to working with Centra Care to expand local health care services for patients and their families.

Centra Care President Doctor Terry Pladson says the partnership will strengthen and grow health care services in the Monticello and Big Lake aras.
