DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - An autopsy on a man who died in custody while charged with opening fire in a northern Minnesota courthouse found the cause and manner of his death to be "undetermined,'' pending additional laboratory tests.
St. Louis County Sheriff Ross Litman tells the Duluth News Tribune those tests could take several weeks.
Litman says foul play is not suspected in the death of 42-year-old Daniel Schlienz.
The sheriff's office now says Schlienz first requested medical attention on Monday, not Sunday as Litman previously said.
A news release says Schlienz was first seen by a nurse from Jail Health Services about 11:15 a.m. Monday, about three hours after he requested it. He was treated for flu-like symptoms.
When his condition worsened, he was taken to a hospital. He died Tuesday morning.
