APPLE VALLEY, MN (AP) - A new Canada lynx kitten is making his debut at the Minnesota Zoo.
The lynx was born at the Apple Valley zoo last May. The kitten is now old enough to leave the den and explore the exhibit with its mother.
The kitten doesn't have a name yet.
A zoo spokeswoman tells the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/MBQkSZ) the kitten is now up to almost 6 pounds and should eventually grow to almost 29 pounds.
Canada lynx have dense silvery-brown coats, ruffed faces and tufted ears. They are listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
The new kitten is the second lynx birth at the zoo in the past two years. Two kittens were born in 2010.
