Brooten barn destroyed by fire

BROOTEN, Minn. (KNSI) - A Stearns County barn was deemed a total loss after a fire ripped through the structure Thursday evening, the Stearns County Sheriff's office reported.

The fire broke out on the farm along the 25700 block of County Road 18 in Crow Lake township around 7:20 p.m. Thursday, Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner said.

Brooten Fire crews arrived to find the barn fully engulfed in flames.

The barn was owned by Marcia Hallermann, 64, of Brooten, who told investigators few items of value were stored in the barn.

No one was hurt in the blaze. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
