ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Six months after being re-elected to a fourth term in Congress, Minnesota Sixth District Representative Michele Bachmann announced Wednesday she will not seek re-election in 2014.
Bachmann made the announcement in an 8 minute video posted on her website. Bachmann did not give a specific reason for not running again, but said her eight years of service in the House is enough.
Bachmann ran for president in 2012, and is the subject of an ongoing ethics investigation. After dropping out of the presidential race, Bachmann sought a fourth term in the House, and in November, narrowly defeated Jim Graves by just 42-hundred votes.
Graves announced in April that he will run for the seat again next year.
