ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - An Apollo High School coach, suspended amid reports of a complaint filed, has resigned his coaching positions.

District 742 Superintendent Bruce Watkins tells KNSI News this morning that Nik Peterson, North Junior High School special education teacher, head baseball and girls basketball coach, as well as a football assistant for Apollo High School, has tendered his resignation.

Apollo High School Principal Charlie Eisenreich tells KNSI Mr. Peterson's coaching resignations were officially approved by the District 742 School Board on Wednesday night.

Eisenreich says Adam Savolainen, long time Apollo assistant baseball coach and Social Studies teacher, will serve as interim head baseball coach for 2013.

The basketball position will also be filled prior to the start of next season.

Peterson remains suspended from his teaching duties while an investigation is conducted.

Due to data privacy issues, Watkins and Eisenreich were unable to provide comment to KNSI regarding the nature of the filed complaint.
