NISSWA, Minn. (KNSI) The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office says a a three year-old boy has drowned in Lake Edna near Nisswa.

Sheriff Todd Dahl says officers were called just before 6:30 Monday night to a report of an unresponsive boy in the lake.

The child was located near the shoreline by family members. Attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dahl says at this time, it's unknown how the child ended up in the water. Foul play is not suspected. The body has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The name of the child is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
