DULUTH, MN (AP) - A teenager who was pulled from Lake Superior off the Duluth shore has died.
The St. Louis County sheriff's office says 13-year-old Jeffrey Watson Junior died about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at a Twin Cities hospital.
Watson was swimming with a friend Monday near an old concrete structure just off Duluth's Lakewalk trail when he went under and didn't surface. He was under water for about 30 minutes. Searchers used a remotely operated vehicle with a camera to help locate the boy.
Watson's father told the Duluth News Tribune that the teen probably would be taken off of life support because he never regained consciousness and had no chance for survival.
