ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Authorities say they discovered the body of a man while fighting a garage fire in St. Cloud on Tuesday evening.

The fire call from 121 36th Avenue North came in just after 7 p.m.

St. Cloud Police Lt. Jeff Oxton says St. Cloud firefighters discovered the body in the rented detatched garage, and the victim's identity, as well as the cause of the fire, are still under investigation.

Oxton says the renters and owners of the house are safe and accounted for.

St. Cloud Fire Marshal Mike Post says damage to the garage and its contents is estimated at $15,000.

Oxton says more information will be released when the victim is postively identified.

The investigation is being conducted by the St. Cloud Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit, St. Cloud and State Fire Marshalls, and the Ramsey County Medical Examiners Office.
