ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Travel across parts of the Midwest will be very difficult--and in some cases impossible--as a major winter storm moves through.
A Blizzard Warning is posted for the southeast corner of Minnesota until 6 tonight. Some of the cities in the warning are Rochester, Waseca, Fairmont, Blue Earth, Owatonna and Albert Lea. Those areas could get up to nine inches of snow. Northwest winds gusting to 45 miles an hour will create whiteout conditions.
A Winter Storm Warning is out for areas north of the Blizzard Warning--including the Fairbault and Red Wing areas. And further to the north and west, there's a Winter Weather Advisory out for the Mankato area, and into the southern Twin Cities metro area until 6 pm--where two to four inches of snow is possible.
Accumulating snow is not expected in the St. Cloud area or central Minnesota.
