ELK RIVER, Minn. (KNSI) A Big Lake man shocked while charging a boat battery in Sherburne County has died.

Sheriff Joel Brott says it happened Thursday afternoon while 46 year-old Daniel Peterson was standing in Eagle Lake while trying to charge a boat battery. He lost his footing and fell in the water while holding the battery charger.

Peterson's sister witnessed the accident and ran to help him and another victim--49 year-old Kris Biser.

Both were floating in the lake and unresponsive. Peterson was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died Friday.

Biser was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and is expected to recover.
