FOLEY, Minn. (KNSI) A Litchfield man has been arrested after exchanging gunfire with a Benton County deputy Thursday.

Chief Deputy Troy Heck says 43 year-old Christopher Knyphausen fired at a deputy at Airway Storage near Second Street Southeast and 35th Avenue in St. Cloud.

The deputy returned fire, and then the suspect got into a vehicle and fled. His vehicle was found in a wooded area where a perimeter was established.

Knyphausen was arrested a little after 8:30 last night. He was being held in the Benton County Jail on charges of second-degree assault.
