FOLEY, Minn. (KNSI) -  A lawyer with more than 20 years of experience has been tapped to serve as Benton County Attorney.

Phillip Miller was offered the position by the Benton County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.

Miller comes to central Minnesota from Lake of the Woods County, where he served as County Attorney between 1997 and 2007, and again starting in January of 2011.

Miller replaces Robert Raupp, who resigned after being appointed to serve as a District Court Judge by Governor Mark Dayton. He'll serve out the remainder of Raupp's term, which expires in January of 2015.

Miller received his degree from St. Paul's William Mitchell College of Law in 1990. He'll begin his duties with Benton County on September 3rd.
