ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, and tonight, former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura will be in St. Cloud to sign copies of a new book he's written about that fateful day.

The book signing is being held at Barnes and Noble. It begins at seven pm. Earlier this week, he spoke with KNSI's Dan Ochsner on Ox In The Afternoon about his decision to write the book.

Meanwhile, Fifty years after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, thousands will mark the day with a solemn ceremony in Dealey Plaza.

Today's city-planned event in the place where JFK's motorcade passed through when shots rang out will feature brief remarks by the mayor, the tolling of church bells and readings from the president's speeches by author David McCullough. About 5,000 tickets were issued for the free ceremony in Dealey Plaza.
