LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (KNSI) The top National Guard soldiers from a seven state region--including Minnesota--are at Camp Ripley near Little Falls this week competing in what's known as the Region Four Best Warrior competition.
Minnesota National Guard Sergeant Major Marcus Erickson says the soldiers are being tested on a variety of skills, including weapons systems, obstacle courses, day and night land navigation, and target shooting competition.
Erickson says these soldiers are the, "best of the best." He says the Regional Four competition is, "our version of the Olympics inside the National Guard system."
The winner advances to national competition at National Guard Bureau headquarters in Arkansas in July.
