MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) Target Field in downtown Minneapolis is a busy place this week.

Even though the Minnesota Twins are out of town on a west coast road trip, the ballpark is busy getting ready to host the 85th annual Major League Baseball All Star game next Tuesday.

The Twins Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Broadcasting--Kevin Smith--says Fan Fest will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center beginning Friday. There will be many baseball-themed activities and memorabilia on display.

Smith says a parade of all-stars will be held on game day, as players will take in a red carpet parade to the ballpark.

The game itself is Tuesday night. Twins players Glen Perkins and Kurt Suzuki have been named to the American League squad.

Second baseman Brian Dozier will participate in the Home Run Derby on Monday. He leads the team with 16 home runs this season.
