ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Through Monday, St. Cloud had picked up only a tenth of an inch of snow in March.

That's about to change in a big way. A Winter Storm Warning is posted through 7 am Wednesday, and heavy snow will blanket central Minnesota Tuesday.

Forecaster Joe Calderon says 6 to 12 inches can be expected before the snow finally tapers off late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Northeast winds will blow at 10 to 20 miles per hour. That could cause some blowing snow, adding to the misery.

Whatever snow does fall will be melting this week. High temperatures on Thursday and Friday are forecast to be in the upper 30s.

The normal high and low for St. CLoud are now 40 and 21.
