ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI)  A storm system moving in from the central plains will likely cause bouts of severe weather over much of the region today and early tonight.

National Weather Service forecaster Mike Griesinger says large hail and damaging winds are possible with storms moving through this morning, while large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes possible this afternoon and evening.

St. Cloud picked up 1.63 inches of rain in thundershowers that moved through Wednesday.

Griesinger says severe weather is possible across Minnesota today
