ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) If you're traveling on Highway 15 today, you might notice a big yellow crane parked west of the highway near the St. Cloud VA campus.

Spokesman Barry Venable says it's being used to make repairs on the V-A's wind turbine. He says technicians will replace the main gear box on top of the tower.

It's a process that could take a couple of weeks. The nose cone and turbine blades will be lifted away from the turbine and lowered to the ground for the repairs.

The wind turbine was installed in April 2011, but has not been functional since last August. Venable says it was hoped the tubine could produce as much as 15-percent of the VA's power needs each year, but Venable says so far, "it has failed miserably."
