ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Gasoline prices have been rising in the St. Cloud area and nationally in recent weeks.

Minnesota/Iowa AAA spokeswoman Gail Weinholzer says after dropping down to near $3.00 a gallon a few months ago, prices have steadily climbed back up. They're now averaging $3,56 in Minnesota.

That's a dime below the national average, but 25 to 30 cents higher than prices were just a month ago.

Weinholzer says some of the blame can be placed on seasonal trends, including the switchover to summer blend from winter blend fuel.

She says prices will likely peak out in April, and then began to decline again. Minnesota's peak prices came around Memorial Day 2013, when prices averaged $4.28 a gallon.
