ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Minnesota's state parks will be crowded this Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Parks Spokeswoman Patricia Arndt says as of yesterday (Wednesday), only about 250 of the system's 3,500 reservable campsites were still available.

About one-third of all campsites are available on a first come, first served basis, but Arndt says most of those will be gone too.

Two of Minnesota's 75 state parks will remain closed this weekend. They are Blue Mound State Park near Luverne and Fort Snelling State Park in the Twin Cities.

And the Department of Natural Resources reminds Minnesotans that is illegal to possess or shoot off fireworks in state parks.
