ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Construction work on a new crosswind runway is wrapping up today.
Airport manager Bill Towle says contractors with Knife River are putting the final layer of asphalt on the runway, and that work should be done by Tuesday.
He says the new runway will need pavement markings and some landscaping type work before it opens for takeoffs and landings. Towle says that should happen within a couple of weeks.
The runway is 3,000 feet long by 75 feet wide.
Ninety percent of the $1 million project was paid for with federal funds.
