ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) A storm system could bring several inches of snow to southern Minnesota Tuesday night.
And although you might not be ready for it--the Minnesota Department of Transportation is.
MnDOT spokesman Kevin Gutknecht says their plows are outfitted with the proper equiopment,, plow operators have been trained and tested and sand and salt piles have been stocked.
He says now it's up to the motoring public to help make it a safe winter on the highways. Gutknecht says there were 21 crashes in Minnesota last winter involving vehicles and snow plows.
He says most of those crashes were caused by drivers following plows too closely and overdriving road conditions.
Motorists can check road conditions by going to www.511mn.org or dialing 5-1-1 before heading out.
