ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KNSI) One of the three winning Powerball Lottery tickets sold in Wednesday night's $448 million drawing was sold in Anoka County.

That word this morning from Minnesota Lottery Executive Director Ed Van Petten.

He says the holder of that ticket has the option of taking 30 annual annuity payments totaling $149.4 million, or a single cash payment worth $58.3 million after taxes.

Van Petten says it's not unusual for a lottery winner of this magnitude to take up to a week before stepping forward to claim their prize.

He says the only advice the lottery office gives the winner is to seek out a financial planner or tax attorney.

Van Petten says by law, the name and hometown of the winner have to be released, but he says it will be up to the individual to decide if they want to do any interviews with the media.
