SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. (KNSI) Sauk Rapids police have released the name of a pedestrian hit by a train Wednesday.

Police Chief Perry Beise says 55 year-old Kevin Mitchell Olson of St. Cloud was walking with another man at 1945 North Benton Drive when he was hit at five pm Wednesday.

Beise says Olson walked across the railroad tracks after a crossing arm had come down. Olson suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

Beise says the BNSF freight train--which was headed northbound--was traveling 57 miles per hour at the time.
