ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The St. Cloud School District's new superintendent is on the job.

Willie Jett took over for the retiring Bruce Watkins on July first. He comes to St. Cloud from St. Paul, where he was a school administrator there.

Jett tells KNSI News his first few days on the job have been a "whirwind", planning and meeting with key people in the community.

Jett says his list of priorities is still being assembled, but he says anything that can help attain student success in the classroom will be ranked at the top.

Jett replaces Bruce Watkins, who retired. Jett calls Watkins a "wonderful man" whose "heart is still with the district and the commiunity. "

Jett will have two children in the school district this fall. His son will be a 6th grader at South Junior High and his daughter will be in fourth grade at Oak Hill Elementary.
