ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says personnel from his department are posting "no wake" signs on some lakes and rivers that are experiencing dangerously high water levels due to recent heavy rain.

Sanner says areas of particular concern are the Sauk River and the Chain of Lakes in the Richmond and Cold Spring areas, and Two Rivers Lake near St. Anna.

The sheriff says boaters on those bodies of water are being asked to reduce their speed on those waters to create no wake or waves from their boat, which could result in shoreline erosion and property damage.
