ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) It looks like the stretch of sunny, mild weather in central Minnesota will come to an end this weekend.
Lisa Schmit is a forecaster at the National Weather Service office in Chanhassen. She says after another day with highs in the 80s on Friday, the weather will turn more "active" this weekend.
Schmit says thunderstorms are expected to develop by Saturday afternoon and continue through early next week. Schmit says some of the storms could contain hail and heavy downpours, which could lead to flash flooding.
It's been a wet month of May in St. Cloud, with 4.96 inches of rain. That's 2.22 inches above normal.
