ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Here's something you don't see very often in the summer--gas prices going down.

But that's what's been happening across Minnesota lately. The statewide average is $3.41 a gallon. That's down about a dime over the last week, and about 20 cents lower than a month ago. Nationally, the average is $3.57.

Gail Weinholzer with Triple A Minnesota/Iowa says, "prices were arbitrarily high in June due to the political unrest in Iraq." She says the political situation in the Middle East, "has settled down just a bit, and we still haven't had any significant hurricanes in the gulf coast region" to interrupt supplies.

Many St. Cloud gas stations were priced at $3.25 a gallon today.
