ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) FEMA teams have left the St. Cloud area after being on location last week to get a first hand view of damage from June 21st storms that left widespread damage--mainly to trees and power poles.

Stearns County Emergency Management Director Erin Hausauer says the preliminary damage assessment will determine whether 26 counties that are included in an emergency executive qualify for federal assistance.

There are thresholds that must be met. In Stearns County, that figure is $519,000 in documented damage.

If they reach the threshold, they would be eligible for 75-percent reimbursement.

The state can reimburse the remaining 25-percent, although that would require legislative approval.
