ST. CLOUD, Minn.. (KNSI) Two major construction projects are about to begin at St. Cloud Regional Airport.
Directort Bill Towle tells KNSI News the first project is the construction of a new 12,000 square foot hangar that will be used to store corporate jets. It's a $1.5 million project, with half the cost coming from a state grant.
The second project is reconstructing 2,000 feet of asphalt on the airport's croswswind runway. That's a $1 million project, with 90-percent of the costs covered by the Federal Aviation Administration.
These projects come at the same time the airport tries to entice a carrier to come to St. Cloud to provide daily air service to Chicago.
Towle says these latest improvements certainly won't hurt that effort. Both projects are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
