ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Not much about our weather looks or feels like spring today, but that's not stopping the Department of Natural Resources from opening up its campsite reservation system.

DNR Parks and Trails Division Information Officer Amy Barrett says reservations can be made by calling 1-866-857-2757, or by going online to www.mndnr.gov. Barrett says people can also find photos of campsites on the web, and can take a 360 degree panoramic virtual tour of park campsites as well.

Barrett says it's not too early to start thinking about making reservations, especially for those high-in-demand holidays of Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

Last year, 8.7 million people visited Minnesota's 76 State Paks and Recreation Areas, including 992,000 overnight stays.
