ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) Athletes at St. Cloud State University can now get out of the elements at Husky Stadium.
The dome that covers the football field went up Thursday, a feat that Athletics Director Heather Weems says took hundreds of volunteers.
She says the work started at 6:00 a.m. in subzero temperatures and finished Thursday night--some 15 hours later.
She says many of the volunteers were student-athletes, along with staff members and coaches. She says hiring an outside company to come in and do the same work--in this type of weather--would have cost $25,000 to $50,000.
